Old Southendians (Oct 2016)
Adam Wells breaks through the Old Southendian defence for a chance on goal

The Blueharts Men’s first team came away frustrated after dominating most of the home game against Old Southendians yet securing only a point from a 2-2 draw.  The visitors went ahead after 30 seconds, but Blueharts came back with two great goals from Harry Sampson.  Most of the second half remained at this scoreline with the home side winning penalty corners but failing to convert.  With ten minutes remaining Old Southendians grabbed an equaliser with a diving deflection into the goal.

Elsewhere, the Men’s 6s continued their unbeaten run to head the league table, but had a wake up call to win by just a goal at 4-3 to Bedford.  The Ladies’ 1s beat Welwyn Garden City 2-1 and the Ladies’ 2s won 2-0 against Leighton Buzzard.

The most convincing win of the day was the Men’s 4s, who went to St Albans and came away with three points and a 6-1 victory.  The Ladies’ 4s were just as decisive in their 5-1 win over Rickmansworth.  The Men’s 2s beat Cambridge City 5-3 away from home.

Unfortunately, the Men’s 3s will be wanting to forget their 0-7 defeat at Broxbourne and the Ladies’ 3s and Men’s 5s also lost to Shefford and Sandy (1-4) and Letchworth (2-4) respectively.
