Mens 1 v Southend

The Men’s 1s secured a valuable three points from mid-table rivals Cambridge University, holding firm against periods of sustained attack to win 2-1.  The Ladies’ 1s were 4-2 winners over St. Albans at home and the Ladies’ 4s travelled to Milton Keynes to hold third place in 5 Counties Division 4 with a 5-1 win.  The only other team to win this Saturday was the Men’s 6s who weathered stern opposition from Potters Bar to win 2-1 and take their winning streak to 10 games.

The Ladies’ 3s gained a point from a goalless draw at home to Chiltern, but our remaining sides each came away on the wrong end of the scoreline.  The Men’s 4s and Men’s 5s were both beaten in Division 5SW, going down 2-3 to Letchworth and 0-2 to Potters Bar respectively.  The Ladies’ 2s lost 0-2 at home to Leighton Buzzard and the Men’s 3s travelled to Broxbourne for a 1-3 defeat.

Finally, the Men’s 2s will want to forget a whopping from Wapping as they conceded 8 goals without reply in front of a home crowd.
