For the second week running the result of the day was the Men’s 6s putting in a solid display to beat Bishop’s Stortford 4-0 at home.  Sean Story ran rings around the visitors with great skills and accuracy on show to put away 3 goals before the half time whistle.  Bobby Bridges got in on the act in the second half with a well-worked goal, but the Blues could have had several more in the net before the end of the game if only a little luck had run their way.  The Men’s 6s now occupy 7th spot in Div 7SW and look likely to avoid relegation.

The Men’s 2s also had a good 3-0 win at home against West Herts and sit 5th in Division 2S.  The only other victory of the day came from the Ladies 4s away to Welwyn, who secured three points with a 3-1 scoreline and remain second in Div 4 with no real chance of catching champions-in-waiting, St Neots.

Despite a 2-2 draw against Broxbourne, the Men’s 3s are at the top of Div 4SW by 6 points and are almost certain of promotion, if not likely champions.  Draws also came in from the Ladies’ 2s and Ladies’ 1s against Bishop’s Stortford and Saffron Walden respectively.  The Ladies’ 1s are one from the top in Div 2SW with three teams breathing down their necks.  The Ladies’ 2s are fourth in the Premier division of the 5 Counties league.

Elsewhere, our struggling sides all suffered defeat and the Men’s 1s, 4s and 5s all face a hard run in to the end of the season to avoid relegation.  The Ladies’ 3s sit comfortably mid-table.
