The Men’s 2s followed up last week’s win with another victory to maintain a perfect start to the season.  Harpenden were defeated by the Blues 3-6 at the new Blueharts hockey pitch.  The first XI had two games this weekend, but managed only a point from both games after last weekend’s winning start to the season.  On Saturday they hosted Old Southendian to a 2-2 draw, but went down by 1-2 at Spalding on Sunday.

The Ladies’ 1s were not able to overcome local rivals Letchworth and conceded three goals for no reply.  No points just yet for the ladies this season.  The Ladies’ 2s, however, continued a good run of four wins (including pre-season friendlies) to beat Chiltern 2-1 at home.  That was the first goal conceded this season!

After two very impressive victories, the Ladies’ 3s were held to a draw by Cheshunt, finishing level at 2 each.  The Ladies’ 4s were on the wrong side of 4 goals at St Albans, but the Ladies’ 5s scored 4 against Bedford to win by two goals.  The Ladies’ 6s remain unbeaten with another 1-0 scoreline at West Herts this week.

The highlight of the Men’s section results was a 13-0 display of dominance by the Men’s 3 … over the Men’s 4s!  The third XI now top Div 4SW by virtue of goal difference.  The 4s will be looking for revenge when they meet again at the start of January.  The Men’s 5s drew a local derby with Stevenage 2-2, but the sixth XI fell to a heavy 0-8 defeat by Southgate.  The Men’s 7s tasted defeat for the first time this season losing 2-3 to Welwyn Garden City.
