It was a sparse weekend for victories at Blueharts. The Ladies 5s and Ladies’ 4s both claimed wins over Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead and local rivals Letchworth respectively and the Ladies’ 3s were back to winning ways in style with a 3-0 victory over Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead; but the only other set of three points for the Blues came from the Men’s 4s, who saw off Vauxhall at home in a close nine goal game 5-4.
There were two drawn games. The Men’s first XI hosted Letchworth at Lucas Lane and shared the points after a 2-2 scoreline. The Men’s 7s bounced back from a defeat last week to draw with Letchworth one each.
No other teams played Letchworth(!), but there were also no more points to be found among the remaining seven sides. The Ladies’ 1s travelled to Chelmsford and lost by the only goal of the game. They are still to claim a point in Div 1S, unfortunately, but managed to keep the goal difference low. The Ladies’ 2s had a heavy 0-4 loss at Welwyn after an undefeated run of four games to start the season. The Ladies’ 6s lost 1-2 to Luton for their first defeat EVER!
In the Men’s section, the previously unbeaten Men’s 2s were unable to overcome Hertford in a 1-4 game and the Men’s 3s came down to earth from their 13-0 win last week after they went to Shefford and Sandy to lose 2-3. The Men’s 5s hosted Luton at Lucas Lane, but conceded two goals for no reply and the Men’s 6s were narrowly beaten in an even game with Hertford 1-2.
