The Men’s 2s continued an impressive start to the season last Saturday by beating the Colchester first XI 4-2 away from home. They lead the Brentwood first team by two clear points.
However, last weekend’s dominant display across the club was not repeated this week as only 5 teams claimed the full three points from their respective games. The only other side from the Men’s section to win was the Men’s 7s, who came from behind to beat Blueharts 6s 3-2. The Ladies’ 3s were away to Stevenage and decisively gained three points from a 3-0 victory to sit in second place in Division One. The Ladies’ 4s beat Enigma at home with a single goal to win three on the bounce and the Ladies’ 6s hosted Milton Keynes and put on a fine display to come out 3-0 winners.
The Men’s 3s faced ‘top of the table’ Letchworth in a late away game and held the leaders to a 1-1 draw to secure third place in Div 4SW. The Men’s 4s played out a goalless draw with Bedford and the Ladies’ 2s travelled to Bishop’s Stortford for a 1-1 draw.
The Men’s 5s continued a run of bad form with a 3-6 loss to Hertford and the Men’s 1s lost 1-3 to St Albans. The Ladies’ 1s travelled to league-leaders Old Loughtonians and were beaten 3-5 and the Ladies’ 5s were on the wrong end of a 0-2 game with Letchworth.
