We are all frustrated by the enforced break in the season as England goes into its second national lockdown for COVID-19, but many of our teams will be even more annoyed as it breaks the momentum of a great series of results.  Other sides may take the time to re-group for a better restart when we get back to playing again.

Sitting pretty at the top of their respective divisions are the Men’s 5s and the Men’s Colts with maximum points.  Both sides have had a superb start to the 2020/21 season and kept a tight defence to concede only a handful of goals so far.

The Men’s 1s, Ladies’ 1s and Ladies’ 5s are all occupying second spot in their tables.  The ladies sides are both undefeated and the men have lost only to the division-topping East London side.

Third place positions are proudly taken by the Ladies’ 2s and Ladies’ 6s.  The 2s are undefeated, but a draw and goal difference push them down the table.  The 6s have 10 points and a good goal difference.

Still in the hunt for promotion (it’s early days yet) are the Men’s 2s and the Men’s 7s, who each take fourth place in their respective divisions with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Struggling a bit so far are the Men’s 3s in seventh place with 9 points and the Men’s 4s, Ladies 3s and Ladies’ 4s, who are each propping up their tables at the moment … but there’s still lots of hockey to play this season (we hope).

Stay safe and healthy during the break and we’ll see you back on the pitch before you know it.
